If you learn nothing else from what you are about to read, remember this:
PAY CASH AT RESTAURANTS, WHITEY.
The Red Lobster waitress who said customers left her a receipt with the N-word on it returned to work Thursday … and got a firm talking to from her bosses.
“They wanted me to sign something that said I understand that I violated company policy by posting the picture,” Toni Christina Jenkins, a 19-year-old nursing student, told the Daily News.
The whole controversy began Saturday when Jenkins picked up a bill two customers left behind at the Red Lobster where she works in Franklin, Tenn., that she says read, “Tip . . . . . none. Total . . . N—-r.”
So here’s what appears to have happened. Guy and his wife go to dinner at Red Lobster in Franklin, Tennessee and probably got sub-par service from their obviously difficult, nasty and passive-aggressive black waitress. They don’t tip her and write “none” on the tip line to make their point clear. The waitress, annoyed at their effrontery, writes the word “nigger” in the total line and then, knowing full well that the story would spread and make life difficult for the non-tipping customer, posted a picture of the hoax receipt on Facebook, the document clearly showing the customer’s signature. Revenge with the added heft of a !RACISM! accusation.
Here she is:
In the words of Dolemite: “Another frame up, hm?”
Thank God the customer has the spine to deny the allegation and to get a lawyer involved.
WWLP News: Racist Receipt Denial
“Now, that customer and his attorney deny he had anything to do with it and say someone else could be to blame.
“Whoever put that on that receipt was very wrong,” said attorney Richard Dugger.
[The customer] keeps receiving threats over this, even though he maintains his innocence.
“He’s just not that type of individual. He doesn’t speak that way,” Dugger said. “He is really tore up about it.”
Dugger provided a statement he says Barnes wrote by hand.
In the note, [the customer] admitted he wrote “none” in the tip line and signed the bill, but left the total line blank.
As for the N-word, [he] denies writing it. “I do not approve of the use of that type of talk, not now or ever,” the note says.
This is all ironic in light of the fact that it’s pretty well-known that those of African descent are stingy tippers, even when being served by one of their own. To wit:
Now, you may be wondering what a company like Red Lobster does to an employee who posts customer information online for whatever reason…but especially to get revenge for not leaving a tip. Well, the answer is not much at all.
Red Lobster spokesman Mike Bernstein(J) told The Huffington Post in an email that the company has temporarily suspended Jenkins with pay as a result of the incident, which he said is “standard procedure” when an employee violates a company policy (in this case, publicly posting a receipt.) But Bernstein emphasized that Jenkins has not missed a single day of work because of her suspension and is still scheduled to work this week as usual.
Emphasis mine. Read it again. She hasn’t missed work and is back waiting tables.
A White waitress would have been summarily fired. End of story. If a black customer even HAD ACTUALLY written “White Bitch” on a receipt and then the waitress posted a picture of it on Facebook, she would have simply been fired. But, of course, only after being accused of being a racist.
There are several morals to the story and some lessons.
1. The threat of a public “!RACIST!” denunciation is a real one and can be sprung upon any White person at any time by a black person to devastating effect. The public does not wait to consider the facts or the odds. To be accused of being a racist in 2013 is to be considered one immediately.
2. False accusations of racism or hoaxes of this sort go almost completely unpunished most of the time. Even if a false accuser is caught, the downside is nowhere near as bad as for the White person who has been accused.
3. Not to blame the victim here, but once again….Pay cash at restaurants, Whitey. No cards. Sign nothing a black person takes from you. This customer wouldn’t be in this difficulty if he would never have handed his credit card to a black person, anyway.
4. AVOID: Black wait staff.
5. BOYCOTT: Red Lobster
And let me be clear. Even if the customer DID write “nigger” on his receipt, posting the receipt on Facebook should have gotten this waitress fired. Period. The customer, after all, is always right. In this case, if he wrote it, it may be especially true.
