Read this article, published this week:
“[B]efore the release of the DSM-5 Thursday, racism was recognized as a trauma that could potentially cause PTSD, but only in relation to a specific event. There had to be an incident of intense fear, helplessness, or horror for such consideration. For instance, if someone was assaulted in a racially-motivated event, then racism qualified as a sufficient trauma to be categorized as a cause of PTSD.
“But now, under the new definition, the requirements for fear, helplessness, and horror have been removed, making room for the more lasting effects of subtle racism to be considered in the discussion of race-based traumas.”
Translation: “Gimme my Sosh’ Security money, muhfugga. Doctah say I wuz traumatized by subtle racism an’ sheeit an’ now I’m too muhfuggin’ crazy ta work. Want me to prove it by cuttin’ yo ass?”
Then, read this:
“To continue perceiving extreme racism as normative and not pathologic is to lend it legitimacy. Clearly, anyone who scapegoats a whole group of people and seeks to eliminate them to resolve his or her internal conflicts meets criteria for a delusional disorder, a major psychiatric illness.”
Bear with me.
Now, read this:
“The practice of involuntary psychiatric treatment presents an unavoidable risk of mistake and abuse, even in a liberal, pluralistic society. This intrinsic risk was greatly magnified in the Soviet Union by the communist regime’s intolerance for dissent, including any form of political or religious deviance, and by the corrosive effects of corruption and intimidation in all spheres of social life. Psychiatrists were not immune from these pressures.”
In this most recent version of the DSM, there was some discussion as to whether racism and/or “homophobia” ought to be included as mental illnesses or personality disorders. They ended up NOT being included. But, eventually, they will be. And then, as they say, it won’t just be illegal to be White and aware…it will be CRIMINALLY INSANE.
