First, this from Fox News Boston (rapidly becoming my idea of Hell):
QUOTE for the principal’s letter to parents:
“The Honors Night, which can be a great sense of pride for the recipients’ families, can also be devastating to a child who has worked extremely hard in a difficult class but who, despite growth, has not been able to maintain a high grade-point average.”
For the record, this is a form of Communism: unequal input, identical outcome, engineered from above. Sometimes I simply can’t believe the Yankees won the war.
And from CNN:
“Holton and colleagues took computed tomography scans of 40 people. About half of them were European-Americans, and the other half were African-Americans or native South Africans.”
“The various shapes of noses appear to be tied to adaptations to climate, Holton said. The nose must properly heat and humidify the air that you breathe. In a cold climate, it’s advantageous to have a narrower nose. That’s so that when a person inhales, more air comes into contact with the mucosal surface of nose, which provides moisture. The narrow nose maximizes the surface area.”
“The fact that we have sinuses seems to allow for this accommodation of variation in nasal shape, which seems to be important, in evolutionary terms, with regard to climatic adaptation,” Holton said.”
I add this as a Chain Pull because it underlines the hypocrisy of the media. A researcher at the University of Iowa shows that a (non skin color) physical trait varies between people along predictable racial lines. It’s reported as ho-hum news.
But any researcher who does research that shows the equally obvious fact that INTELLIGENCE varies along racial lines for whatever evolutionary reason is immediately called into question and perhaps IMMEDIATELY sullied as a “racist”. But the follow up question that a story like this one about the noses BEGS us to ask is: “WHAT ELSE VARIES BETWEEN THE RACES, DOCTOR?” And CNN doesn’t just not ask it, they in fact avoid it very assiduously. For that glaring lack of journalistic gumption I say…
